Typically I focus on Google’s search engine and optimizations that can be made to work well with it. As I learn more about the technique of getting keywords and content adjusted to meet the goal of ranking among competition, I am learning more about the search engine industry. Is it an industry? Yes. It has uncovered billions of dollars of revenue, and there are firms claiming to be experts. The only thing that I wonder about is determining concrete proof or quantifiable results for investing in SEO. My feeling is that you do a million little things, and the dividends are reaped, but to say one part or the other like adding sitemaps (http://www.sitemaps.org) is the root of 25% increase in search engine related visits, is difficult to prove.
