MarriageVine
MarriageVine's mission is "to assist in keeping the branches of marriages and families consistently abiding in The Vine through quality Christian printed resources, emails, website and events." Their mission has been further fulfilled by adding a website to act as a collected source of all their tools and resources.
Project
MarriageVine needed an eCommerce web site solution as an extension of the resources of their sponsored conferences. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the website needed to be functional. It needed to allow for affiliate linking and smooth merchandise ordering, as well as facilitate internal processes like generating email order notifications and printing packing slips. Other special functional requirements included UPS cost calculations, address verification and credit card authorization.
Process
PHP Scripting was used for cart, resource, and order management, as well as to streamline checkout processes. XML APIs were used to integrate UPS Address Verification, Shipping Rate calculations and credit card processing. A custom email newsletter content management system was constructed for MarriageVine to communicate with its users. This system is easy to navigate and utilize, automatically sending out daily emails to subscribers and conference attendees.
Product
MarriageVine's eCommerce solution has been a profitable fulfillment of the mission to provide an online resource for its conference attendees. LeeseIT benefited from the project by fine tuning the email delivery engine as well as enhancing database query speed. MarriageVine's end product has successfully met the needs of its owners, customers, and conference attendees by providing effective email communication resulting in an expanding and profitable business.
